Art for After Hours was honored to send a team of world class Madonnari (street painting artists) to re-create Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling as a street painting at Festival Bella Via, participating in the Universal Forum of Cultures Monterrey 2007 in Monterrey, Mexico, in October.

Coordinating artist Tracy Lee Stum (US) led a team of world class Madonnari including Anthony Cappetto (US), Cuong Nguyen (US), Genna Panzarella (US), Tomoteru Saito (Japan), Jay Schwartz (US), Rod Tryon (US), and Joel Yau (US).  These Maestro Madonari worked side by side with 8 Mexican Madonari including Margarita Botello, Marina Escamilla, Cristina Flores, Salome Fuentes, Carlos Garcia, Enrique Lupercio, Bernardo Ramonfaur and Miguel Solis to produce this beautiful artwork in front of the Governor's Palace on the Explanada de los Heroes.  Wendy Stum and student artsists helped out as needed, working on architectural elements of the street painting.

The finished street painting took 6 days to complete, was approximately 16 meters by 6 meters, and included 33 panels with over 300 figures.

Special thanks to the Festival Bella Via staff and everyone involved in this project!
